Colorado MUFON State Meeting Minutes

April 12th, 2003 1pm - MUFON Headquarters, Lakewood CO

Leslie Varnicle, Colorado State Director

• Working on a new case. Subject had a sighting, and possible abduction.
  • This one worked like an investigation should. Ethan Rich, COMUFON Investigator Coordinator, got a call on the hotline. The witness was in South Dakota, but fortunately came to Denver for a family function.
  • Ethan was able to gather Leslie, and a local investigator/artist, Gail Barton.
  • Gail drew pictures from the witness’s description.  They were handed out.
    1. The first picture was of a horizon, with a large green fog in the distance, with multiple cigar shaped objects.
    2. The second picture was of the same horizon, with the green glowing fog, but there were only four objects to the bottom left. The objects were in a formation that looked like the face of a typical gray type alien.
  • She witnessed the event for 2 hours, only 24 hours prior to interview.

Question: Were there any burn marks? Leslie said she had no marks on her body they were aware of.

Discussion: A member suggested that if the witness wants to know whether she was abducted, she should place a tape recorder by her bed. She’ll get answers if she wants them, but she should make sure to hide any light from a recorder. If they see it, they will erase the tape.

She lives in Littleton, CO, and wrote the book:  “A Message from the Stars “. Mary will talk about her personal abduction case, and what has been happening to her lately. Her experiences have made her not a victim but a messenger with a unique series of messages. She has communicated to her a most extraordinary pictographic language. Mary was born in Indiana, attended Indiana Central University. She has been an Army medic, a private nurse, a housewife and an entrepreneur.)
• The June COMUFON meeting will be held at the UFO watchtower campout in Hooper.

GUEST SPEAKER: Deborah Lindemann

• Deborah started by explaining she will be talking about abduction cases, and taking a psychological look at what people go through, and how their lives are effected.
• First, though she gave us some background:
  • Deborah currently has a professional practice in Ft. Collins, CO.
  • Moved here from CA in 1997.
  • However, she began researching UFOs in 1995, while she had a practice in LA.
  • Her 1^st way of getting involved in the UFO field was to host a UFO radio show in LA on KIEV. During which she had time to interview many people, including Colonel Wendell Stevens.
  • What first got her interested in hypnotherapy was when she noticed some sick people got better and some didn’t. Some that ate healthy, exercised, and were overall healthy stayed ill, while less healthy people with good attitudes would get better.
  • This led to the mind, and its power. Especially the power to heal and create.
  • She also had past life therapy experience. This all led her into the field of hypnotherapy.
  • In 1989 Deborah began to notice that among the many various issues people came in for, there were a lot of phobias around things like the night, needles, and doctors.
  • In regression some would tell weird stories about beings. At first she was set back a bit, but as they kept coming, she began to take them seriously.
  • There were usually two reactions these patients had. They were either pulled in and mesmerized, or revolted.
  • The ones that were pulled in said so much about life.
  • Deborah was always interested in the paranormal.
• In reference to the gentleman who had earlier suggested a voice activated tape recorder, there was one of these patients in Indiana that tried it. Although she had problems with it not working, it did record something one night. She was alone at night, and it recorded 16 minutes. At first the tape seemed empty, but she had not listened to the whole thing. Listening some time later, she noticed at the very end there was a strange sound, then a sound as if the recorder was being picked up. Then it turned off.
• The sound was like a voice, but not human. Almost like a monkey going eee - eee -eee. Someone said it sounded like the Jonathan Reed tape.
• It wasn’t summer, so the windows were closed.
• One of the more interesting cases is the Stan Romanek case. Deborah said she wasn’t interested in giving the details of the case, but to examine the profound portions hypnotherapy wise.
• Everything shared has been OK’d by Stan first.
• Many people, once hypnotized, go into a very deep state. Like those when people speak different languages. They relive the moment.
• One of the first things that is interesting about this case is that most of these people have very little evidence. Stan’s case has lots of evidence. There is video and multiple witnesses.
• There have also been physical marks on his body, and in his yard.
• There has continued to be high strangeness, and other weird stuff happening in his life. It continues to this day.
• Lots of this information is still confidential, but Deborah assured us she will still cover the high points, and especially the regression session.

Video Clip: Next Deborah showed a video clip of some of the news coverage around the Stan Romanek case. The first clip was a news story from KWGN Channel 2 in Denver. It included video footage that Stan took of a sighting he had at a local park, with many other witnesses. The story then focused on MUFON, and included an interview with John Schuessler, MUFON International Director.

The second clip was an Entertainment Tonight story that covered the popularity of UFO stories. It began with a producer who is making a new show, which will use the Romanek case as its centerpiece. The story included crop circles, and the recent movie on the subject, Signs. It ended with an interview from the movie’s star, Mel Gibson.

Ø The first slide was the timeline of events.

12-27-2003, 11:30 AM - Stan’s 1^st sighting, near Red Rocks. Van sized UFO hovering over power lines.

9-20-2001 7 PM - Leaving work he saw a large pulsing red ball. This was the 1^st time it was seen. It was 500 ft above his work place. It seemed to follow him home. He had a strange dream that night.

9-22-2001, 9PM - Stan was followed to Daniel’s Park by the red ball. Largest number of witnesses. Size: 30 ft. in dia. 40ft above the Park.

9-30-2001, 8 PM - Saw large ball. A beam swept through his van. The object was 40 ft. above, and followed him to Stone House Park. Multiple witnesses.

11-18-2002, 3 AM - Stan is left outside. Marks on back. Circular marks on lawn.

· Deborah explained that in the last incident, Stan found himself outside at 3 AM. As if he had just woken up. He went to go back inside, but was in the clothes he went to bed in, and all the doors were locked. He had to be let in.

· Stan had marks on his back and a strange substance in his hands.

· They later found a circular mark on the lawn. The lawn seems to be dead there. Snow doesn’t seem to melt as quick in the circle, and frost doesn’t condense.

Ø The next few slides were of pictures.

o The first picture was of a drawing of Stan’s description of the 1sr UFO he witnessed. Stan had said that there was a large round upper section, with silver balls rotating on the bottom. In between the balls it was very black. Deborah said Stan recalled the darkness as scary.

o The next few pictures were of soars, and marks around Stan’s wrist. There were also pictures of Stan’s hand taken under a black light. Something under his skin fluoresced under a black light for several days.

o The next set was of regular pictures of Stan, but strange things seem to happen with pictures of him. There are pictures of Stan and his eyes are red. They look closed when they are open, and very strange.

John Schuessler, MUFON International Director

· John wanted to say a few things about this case.

· The sightings at parks were just after 9-11, there was extremely heavy surveillance so someone had to have noticed.

· You’ll also notice that in the video Stan took there are police and fire vehicles, but when we called and asked, officials said there were none present.

· Soon after Stan had come to the MUFON offices, John had seen something similar to the pulsing ball over the MUFON headquarters. Its pulse rate didn’t match anything John knew.

· Also, there are new T-shirts

· Sightings in the past month have dropped off in the US, but are high in South America, and Canada. Especially around Vancouver.

• We still have a $2 raffle going on for a quilt. The raffle won’t be held today, but at a later date.

GUEST SPEAKER: Deborah Lindemann (Cont.)

• There is more proof in regression.
• Deborah said she was very careful not to lead Stan. She only used information he had given, and she never fed him any information he hadn’t given.
• In rare occurrences she said she had led clients. For instance if they said some had no hair, in a later session she may ask what color that same person’s hair was. To make sure they are consistent.

Video: Deborah then showed a video of Stan during a hypnotherapy session. She said she at one point Stan got emotional, so she used a method that makes traumatic events less so, by having Stan observe himself like an outsider. The video had Stan in the center, from his mid chest to of few inches above his head. He was sitting back with his eyes closed.

Deborah asked him what he had dreamed on the night of the 20^th. Stan recounted what he saw.

v Someone was at the front door. Stan got up to go see. He said he thought it might be an emergency.

v His sister opened the door. There were 3 people there. They looked like they were in costumes.

v They had big heads with little or no hair. It was straggly white hair.

v They were little. Stan thought they came up to about his chin. 5′ 2″ ish.

v They were wearing long robes, with necklaces. One might have been in a jump suit. Their outfits were light blue.

v There was a female in a robe. Deborah asked how he could tell she was female. Stan said she had big boobs.

v He kept repeating that they looked really weird.

v They had big heads, and big eyes. Like distorted Japanese or Chinese eyes, but long. They had a tiny nose and mouth.

v Stan seemed agitated, so Deborah asked him to move out of his body, and become an observer.

v Stan, less excitedly, went on to say he thinks they may be people in masks coming to rob him.

v They next took him aboard their craft.

v After some medical procedures, in which they took something from his back, he had a one on one discussion with the female.

v She gave him images and equations. He would ask questions, and they would give answers as symbols in his head.

v He felt his job was to let people know what he had seen. She wanted him to share the information.

v He didn’t know what or why.

v He was brought back to his house, and his sister was still holding the door. He thought she looked silly.

v Deborah asked if his sister had any type of expression. Stan said it was just blank.

v Then he went to bed and so did his sister.

• Deborah switched off the video.
• She pointed out this type of switching off, like Stan’s sister.
• This session in the last video began when Deborah had asked about what Stan was doing that night. She later asked him now that he was in bed, what was this strange dream he had. He said that was his dream.
• He called these things possum people.
• People seem to screen their memory in these situations. Stan translated what happened to him as possum people, some say they have dreams of other animals. Having dreams of wolves or deer circling their bed.
• It could be that the person is translating the event this way, or given a memory to mask the event.

Slide: Deborah said that Stan had drawn some of these equations and images that were fed into his head. Deborah showed a slide of one of his drawings. Stan said that the drawing wasn’t exact, but the best he could come up with.

• Deborah reminded us that the regression in the last video was the same night Stan got the marks on his wrists, and back.

Video: This video is of the first sighting. Stan had said he was up in Red Rocks video recording Denver for his fiancé.

In the video Stan was in the same position as in the last video. His eyes are closed, as he recalls the incident. He explains that there are a lot of people pulled over and looking up. He thinks he sees a kite, but he doesn’t know what it is. Then Stan realized it was metal.

He said the object was floating above the wires. It was rounded and segmented, with balls on the bottom that were spinning. There was black in between the balls. Stan seemed disturbed by the blackness. He called it creepy, and said it seemed to go on forever. The object made no sound.

Stan then started to drive, but the object seemed to follow him. Stan tried to shoot video of the object while in his car, but he was shooting through the window and was too shaky to get it. Then there was a loud pop noise. Stan said it seemed like he could feel it, and the object was gone.

• Deborah told us that Stan said that it looked like two jet fighters where chasing the object.
• Stan was notably very upset about the black in the object. Saying it was something like infinity.
• When Stan awoke form his regression he said he remembered the symbols that they put into his head.
• It took him like 5 minutes to write all of this down. He produced a sheet of complicated equations.

Video: This video begins with Stan showing the camera one of his drawing. His eyes are open, and he is awake. He takes the paper back and continues to write. When he finishes he looks at the paper and gets emotional. He says this is hard for him, and that he fells like he’s going completely nuts. He says he doesn’t understand what he is writing.

The video is fast forwarded to where Stan says he remembers what the equations and symbols he wrote meant. He pointed to one group of symbols, and said it was where they came from. He pointed to another equation and said it had to deal with acceleration, or moving forward. There were a few symbols he still didn’t understand.

Stan said when he asked about the future she gave him scary thoughts. She said there were lots of “things” out there. Stan laughed about saying the word thing. He said he guesses they are alien, but this is really weird for him, because he doesn’t believe in this stuff. He said that the female told him that not all of these things were good. Something was going to happen. Something having to do with a photon stream, or belt. Something was going to pass us.

Question: Did Stan know of other cataclysm type stories? Deborah said no, he didn’t believe in any of this stuff. He thought his UFO buddies were crazy

• Strange things did happen to Stan in the past. His family had sightings. Nothing strange had happened since then, except that an old lady used to come visit him from time to time.
• The equations Stan wrote were examined by physicist. One of them has to do with element 115.
• Deborah also tried hypnotic writing with Stan. That is when they are asked to write, and told they will be able to interpret what they wrote when they awake.
• Stan really wanted to know more about the equations, and became more and more focused on needing to warn people.

Video: Deborah then showed video of Stan remembering more about his drawings. He pointed to an equation and said it had to do with a Quantum jump. It was how they traveled in space. They are bending space. They step forward, and pop in. One drawing shows where we are from and where they are from. Another is when bad stuff will happen. The last one is a warning. Stan didn’t think the last one was his hand writing.

He went over them again. It shows how they got here, and where they are from. Something bad is going to happen. Stan is supposed to teach people. He is supposed to warn people. The bad thing is going to be traumatic.  Stan wasn’t sure when it was going to happen, but it was gong to be sooner rather than later.

Stan then said this experience was satisfying for him. This thing has been really bizarre, but at least he knows more about what was going on.

He looked at the drawings again, and noted that one was the belt of Orion. He guessed that they were pointing to a star in his belt. There is also a date of when the bad thing will happen, by the position of the planets.

Stan again said this whole thing was so hard to believe. It was so nuts. Deborah asked him if it was a release. Stan said yes. He now felt he knew what happened was not just a dream. It was real. He said he now knew why he was so obsessed.

Slide: Deborah then showed us Stan’s drawings. She went over each, with information from scientists that had looked at it. One was the ground state of element 115. Another was dots drawn representing the constellation of Orion. A start on the right of Orion’s belt was circled. To the right of that were two vertical arches that faced away from each other. In the middle of them was an arrow pointing down, with squiggly lines over it. Deborah said some believe that to represent a black whole. Then to the right of that was a circle, then directly above it were ten dots in a row, headed away from the circle. This seems to be our solar system. The third planet was circled, indicating earth. There is an arch drawn in between the 4^th and 5^th planets, representing the meteor belt. There is however, an extra planet.

To the right of this was another symbol like the one possibly representing the black whole. There is an equal sign, then another equation. Deborah said that was found to be Drake’s equation. However, below it is written an X and a 100. Drake’s equation is an estimate as to how many possible intelligent civilizations might exist in the galaxy. Deborah wondered if this might mean there are a lot more than we expect.

Another symbol shows a line with a ball at each end, to the right is an equal’s sign. To the right of that is an arch with a ball at each end. Deborah said this may mean the bending of space, indicating they bend space to travel great distances.

• Deborah reminded us that this was all written in five minutes, and we saw him write it in the video she showed us.
• Stan is at a 4^th grade math level.
• Some time later Stan woke up and found a pad of paper near his bed. It had been written on, but Stan didn’t remember writing it. Nobody remembers anything weird happening that night.
• The equations had to do with Lenz’s law, an expression on the surface of a black whole, and one having to do with electromagnetics.
• These equations were 85 to 90% accurate according to physicists.
• Deborah then opened it up for questions.

Question: Is this all still on going? Deborah said Stan said he was willing to do more sessions. They are also doing testing on the material that Stan found in his hands when he was outside. They are taking soil samples on the circle in the yard.

Question: Has the stuff in his skin that was only visible in the black light come back? Deborah said they think it did. Stan’s friends were present, and they only had a blue pen light. His skin seemed to fluoresce. Pictures of it didn’t come out, and by the time they got to a backlight, it was gone.

Question: Where there multiple sessions? Deborah answered that there was just one on June 26^th. It was 3 hours long. Not including the hour before and after we spent talking about it. Of course this hasn’t been everything, and Deborah has had to keep some back. She does believe that all of this information, except for the equations, is on the internet.

Question: Has anybody looked into the date of the warning? Although, Deborah says there have been people looking into it, there are problems. The drawing only has 7 of the 9 planets, and the original drawing was lost.

Question: He mentioned photons. Does this mean solar issues? Deborah said it is hard to know what he was referring to,

Question: What is the question? What does he want to warn us about? Deborah said Stan doesn’t know. The audience member said they must know. Deborah replied that even if the information is accurate, we don’t know if this information was given to us as an experiment, maybe to create fear. This issue isn’t black and white, maybe that’s why the grays visit us. We just don’t know.

• After opening the meeting, Carolyn introduced Ed Burke to talk about recent sightings in the CO Springs area.

• Ed filled everyone in on an ongoing investigation that may include a police officer.
• Carolyn then introduced Ethan Rich.

• Ethan updated everyone on a recent Denver area sighting. Somewhere in Southwest Denver an Orange ball was seen by the witness, possibly followed by helicopters.
• Ethan also reminded people that we have openings for section Directors, so let us know if you are interested.

• Update from the Treasury, we have $639.
• We have copies of this year’s Symposium for $25.
• Next moth’s meeting we will have Joyce Johnson speaking on the Allies of Humanity.
• In December we are having a Christmas potluck, with speaker Chuck Zukowski.
• Don’t forget the Symposium next year; Lin Simpson will talk a bit on that.
