The Colorado Mutual UFO Network would like to send a huge “Thank you” out to all of you who attended the January Colorado MUFON meeting on January 14, 2012.  This was one of the best turnouts Colorado MUFON has had in a long while thanks to  Paola Harris  and her fascinating presentation on aliens with human appearances. Her words were thought provoking and inspired much conversation at the close of a Colorado MUFON.  We would also like to thank everyone for the great feedback I’ve already gotten, and to answer some of the questions that have been asked:

• Yes, we will try and continue to have a raffle each meeting.
• Yes, we would love to have any donations of  “on topic” (i.e., UFO related) items for the raffles.
• Yes, we will definitely be asking Paola Harris to return and speak for us again.
• Yes, we will ask Paola to go into more detail on some of her topics.
• Yes, Dave’s UFOs will be available to purchase as he gets them made, as will the DVDs from our training sessions and our speakers.
• Yes, we really have been “upgraded” to the cabaret, and I’ll find out about the “dedicated entrance” so we don’t have to go through the TIVOLI.

For those who couldn’t attend, there are a couple of announcements:

• The Board of Directors voted to set up a PayPal account on our website to make it easier to pay State dues and to purchase items “on line” as they come available.
• Our Colleague of so many years, Cheryl Gantz, has decided to retire from service with CO MUFON.  As you all know, Cheryl has long been the “Heart and Soul” of CO MUFONs Northern Colorado community; working tirelessly to build and maintain our presence in the Greeley/Ft. Collins area; has spent countless hours helping out at MUFON HQ, and has coordinated the Northern Colorado meetings at “The Cattlemen’s” Restaurant.  As if all of this weren’t enough, she has also investigated over 80 cases for MUFON and has helped to train many of our FIs in Northern Colorado.  Cheryl was recently featured in the MUFON JOURNAL as the “Volunteer of the Month” and I think we can all agree that Cheryl has epitomized the title of “Volunteer.”  It goes without saying, that Cheryl has well earned her accolades as well as her rest.  Thank you Cheryl, for all you have done!

Paola Harris, a photojournalist and investigative reporter in the field of extraterrestrial related phenomena research. She is also a widely published free-lance writer, especially in Europe. She has studied extraterrestrial related phenomena since 1979 and is on personal terms with many of the leading researchers in the field. From 1980-1986 she assisted Dr. J. Allen Hynek with his UFO investigations and has interviewed many top military witnesses concerning their involvement in the government truth embargo.

The Board of Directors’ Meeting will commence at 10:00AM and finish around 11:30AM. After lunch, we will conduct MUFON Field Investigator training and organize plans for working in teams to complete investigations from 12:30PM to 1:30PM. The MUFON General Meeting will commence at 2:00PM with announcements and general business, and Paola Harris will present at 2:30PM.  A $5 Fee will be required for all non-MUFON/Colorado MUFON members in attendance of the presentation.  For those of you who cannot make it to the general meeting, don’t despair. The January 2012 Colorado Mutual UFO Network will be kicking off the New Year with one of the most fascinating speakers in Ufology.  At 2:00PM, we will welcome Paola Harris, an an Italo-American photojournalist and investigative reporter in the field of extraterrestrial related phenomena research.  She is also a widely published free-lance writer, especially in Europe.  She has studied extraterrestrial related phenomena since 1979 and is on personal terms with many of the leading researchers in the field.  From 1980-1986 she assisted Dr. J. Allen Hynek with his UFO investigations and has interviewed many top military witnesses concerning their involvement in the government truth embargo.

This is a really interesting submission to the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC) that occurred on December 12th between 1:30AM and 2:00AM in Lakewood, CO. The witness was letting some dogs exercise in the yard of the animal hospital where she works, when she observed a bright light that she initially assumed was a chopper, but without sound. Though the light shined directly on the witness, she did not feel as though she or the area surrounding her was lit up. The witness watched as the object traveled away, with the bright light still facing her. It then leveled out and headed in an northwest direction before disappearing in the overcast sky without getting smaller. She characterized the object’s disappearance like someone just turned the lights off. The witness exposed digital images of the object with her cell phone (see the link), and sent those images to her PC. It wasn’t until she later looked at those images on her computer, when she realized what she had photographed.

Though it appears that this witness has yet to report this sighting to MUFON, these photographs are extremely interesting and Colorado MUFON Field Investigators would appreciate the opportunity to speak with the witness in greater detail about what she observed.

This video from the summer of 2011 was recently posted to disclose.tv by a witness who claimed to see the object while on at his family’s ranch in Colorado at an undisclosed location. He stated that he had just finished eating smores and was sitting on the porch when “some crazy lights” appeared in the distance in an undisclosed direction. He grabbed his video camera and started recording, and characterized the lights as unlike anything he had seen before.

Though there could be many explanations for the lights depicted in the video, the fact that the red lights separate from the green lights at such a high speed is very interesting.

This youtube.com video from November 20, 2011, at 4:08PM, depicts an asymmetrical object that seems to be falling end over end through the sky on a clear sunny day. The 25-year-old witness who uploaded the footage claimed to spot the object between 30,000 and 50,000 feet in the vicinity of chemtrails that he was filming with time lapse videography west of Canon City, Colorado.

The object can first be seen around the ten second mark of the two minute and two second video. It becomes immediately apparent that this object is actually falling, not flying, and it appears to be rotating swiftly as it plummets toward the ground. It’s very difficult to discern the object’s physical features from the video, but it is clearly not an aircraft or bird.

A great time was had by all at Colorado MUFON’s holiday party for its final gathering in 2011.  Pot luck was on the menu and it was a festive atmosphere. Our silent auction was very successful and there were drawings for goodybag giveaways at the end.

As has been a COMUFON December tradition, John Scheussler, co-founder of MUFON, was our end of the year guest speaker. John first spoke about his years as Flight Operations Director at McDonnell Douglass. He witnesses on radar unexplainable aerial phenomena and was told stories by pilots and astronauts of things they couldn’t explain flying in our atmosphere.

John has quite the collection of UFO related material in his basement. He has over 10,000 periodicals, 2700 books and approximately 6000 video/DVDs. He talked about the Brazilian UFO flap that took place in the 1970s in which various orbs affected the residents of a small town. These orbs were at times harmful to the towns people. Even fatal at times. The local Brazilian army was witness to some of these incidents.

John also spoke about his investigation into the Cash/Landrum case. This is where a diamond shape UFO was seen by Betty Cash, Vickie Landrum and Colby Landrum (Vickie’s grandson) and what appeared to be severe after affects of radiation poisoning.

John also pondered why extraterrestrials are visiting us. They could be coming here to harvest our resources; need humans as laborers to mine our own resources; they could be escaping the tyranny of their own home planet; seeking religious freedom; just pure greedy and want our planet for themselves; an alien race could be losing their own resources and environment; escaping war on their own planet or could be just destroyers of life and want to conquer our precious earth.

John doubts we will ever see full disclosure in our lifetime. But maybe with enough government funding and grants we could get our own scientists to begin a robust investigation into the unidentified aerial phenomena that continues today.

The Colorado MUFON Christmas Celebration is just around the corner on Saturday, December 10th, from 2:00PM to 5:00PM. Former International Director and founding board member of MUFON International, John Schuessler, has agreed to be our guest speaker, and hors d’oeuvres will be potluck. In addition, there will be exciting door prizes, and we are planning a silent auction. If you plan to attend, bring your Christmas cheer, maybe a Santa hat with alien antennae, and remember that guests are always welcome.

Important Change of Venue Information:  The Colorado MUFON Christmas Celebrations has been moved from the Multicultural Room at the Tivoli Student Union to the Sigi’s Cabaret (Room #140) in the lower level. The reason for the room change is that we can only have food in the MultiCultural Lounge if we have it catered. Really getting close, can’t wait to see everyone!

This youtube.com video from November 28, 2011, was taken by an amateur UFO videographer who claimed to see two bright white lights over the Denver Metro Area from his vantage point on I-70.  In the video, he questions the fact that the lights appear perfectly still and were not there five minutes before.  Based on the scenery that was shot as he panned his camera across his dashboard, it is clear to see that he is traveling Westbound on I-70 just to the Northeast of the Denver Metro Area.  Anyone who travels I-70 on a regular basis will know that these lights are actually the landing lights of two separate commercial aircraft on landing approaches to DIA.  It is likely that the white lights could not be seen five minutes prior due to the fact that the aircraft were either coming over the Rocky Mountains or turning into the landing approach.  It is not uncommon for individuals new to the Denver Metro Area to be surprised by how large and bright the commercial aircraft approaching DIA from the West appear to be.
